·
Menstruation
usually starts at puberty and ceases at the menopause.
·
These

hormones in the body.
·
The
menstrual cycle itself is also governed by a combination of hormones, all of
which are produced at varying levels throughout the cycle.
·
Many
female reproductive system disorders or conditions arise when the balance of
these hormones is upset.
What are the
causes…?
·
Such
disorders may be caused by infections, physical damage, or hormonal imbalances.
·
Since
the combined primary function of these female reproductive organsi.e., ovaries,
fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva is reproduction, disorders
affecting them can result in infertility and should be treated as soon as
possible, particularly if children are planned.

common cause of secondary amenorrhea which can occur as a result of tumors on
the pituitary gland or an overactive thyroid
gland.
Menorrhagia:

Abnormal
heavy and prolonged bleeding in menstruation causing excess loss of blood.
·
Causes: Uterine fibroids which are non-cancerous(benign) tumors of the uterus appear during your childbearing years
are common causes. Endometriosis is another common cause. Structural
abnormalities in the reproductive tract, anovulation, bleeding disorders,
hormone issues (such as hypothyroidism) or cancer of the reproductive tract are
other causes.
Dysmenorrhoea
·
Painful
menstrual cycles involving severe abdominal cramps due to atonic contractions
of the uterus in menstruation.
·
Causes: Primary dysmenorrhea is thought to be
caused by excessive levels of prostaglandins, hormones that make your uterus
contract during menstruation and childbirth. Its pain probably results from
contractions of your uterus that occur when the blood supply to its lining
(endometrium) is reduced.
·
Secondary
dysmenorrhea may be caused due to endometriosis or uterine fibroids.

than normal androgen levels in women can prevent the ovaries from releasing an
egg (ovulation) during each menstrual cycle, and can cause hirsutism (extra
hair growth), acne and infertility.
·
Cause:The cause of polycystic ovary
syndrome isn't well understood, but may involve a combination of genetic and
environmental factors like hereditary cause, excess androgen hormone, excess
insulin, stress, etc.
